For this week's post, we asked three teachers about their experiences using ParentSquare's Digital Forms & Permission Slip feature.
I know permission slips can sometimes be a hassle. But ParentSquare's permission slip feature has been a total game changer for my class! It's so quick and easy to use.
I love that I can create different question types, whether it's a simple yes/no, a date picker, or even short response.
It makes it clear and convenient for parents. Plus, sending reminders to those who haven't responded is a breeze. With a click of a button, parents get a friendly nudge to complete the slip. This has definitely boosted participation in classroom events and activities. Overall, ParentSquare's permission slip feature is a lifesaver! It saves me time, keeps parents informed, and gets everyone on the same page.

ParentSquare has been an absolute game-changer for our after-school club! Communication used to be such a hassle, but now, with ParentSquare, everything is streamlined and efficient. From sending out announcements and reminders to coordinating schedules and sharing updates, ParentSquare has made it incredibly easy to keep parents informed and engaged.

The ability to quickly message parents individually or in groups has been invaluable for addressing any concerns or questions.
Thanks to ParentSquare, managing our after-school club has never been smoother!
Emily Oyler, Fifth Grade Classroom Teacher, Noble Crossing
I love Parent Square permission slips because they keep all the information already attached to PowerSchool (email, phone number, etc.) in an autofill option. This helps keep the information collected consistent and organized. An electronic version allows teachers to send it directly to parents to fill out at their convenience rather than a student taking a paper copy to and from school and potentially getting lost. I can send out reminders to parents about the permission slip, which will notify them again to fill it out if they forget. This only goes to parents who have not filled out the form rather than me tracking down who hasn't filled it out and composing an email; it is all there at the touch of a button! There is also an option to message chaperones attending if you need to get chaperone information out to those parents!

Another benefit is downloading the permission slips into a spreadsheet format.
If parents cannot fill out the form on a device, you can also print out a blank form, and when they bring it back, you can mark it "complete" from your end to still have everything tracked in the same location. I typically get around 15 responses by the end of the day, and most of the responses are done within a day or so of receiving the information.
Emily Drabyn, Music Teacher, Promise Road
As a parent, I love the ability to immediately take care of a permission slip without my child needing to remember to dig it out of their backpack.
It's also reassuring to know that the teacher has received it right away. As a teacher, I also love the quick turnaround and easy access to the information in an organized digital form (which can be exported to a sheets doc and manipulated in whatever way is needed). I also really like that parents can quickly reply with any questions directly on the post, which makes communication easier and more organized.
Are you intrigued, or have you used it too? Comment below. We'd love to hear from you.
The district requires us to use their specific, two page permission slip. There is also a third form for medicines. Are you able to put this into ParentSquare somehow?? I would LOVE to use this feature, because I am collecting permission slips constantly. This would make my life so much easier, but I want to make sure I am meeting district requirements. Would love to chat with someone to get more info!
