Padlet in Reading Workshop

Technology can enhance our reading lives by connecting us other readers.

We might chat with an author through Twitter or Skype, collect ideas for what to read next through Goodreads or Instagram, or engage in a conversation about the latest award winner with friends and colleagues through Facebook or a Google+ community.

Though we are limited on how we leverage social media tools with K-5 students, we can replicate their stylish feel using Padlet as a collaboration tool.

Padlet doesn't require students to login with a username and password. Students can quickly access a Padlet with a QR code (generated by Padlet) or the teacher can grab the Padlet's embed and code and paste into a Canvas content page.

The possibilities with Padlet are endless but what interests me most as a dedicated reader is its versatility within reading workshop. Below is a video I created for the Indiana Department of eLearning on Padlet in Reading Workshop. Below the video is a Padlet outlining the ideas I mention in the video plus a few others. Please add more ideas to the Padlet or comment on existing ideas if you've already tried them in the classroom!
